The Natural Story of Elixir Organic Spa

My journey began back in 2001 when I suffered a horrendous allergic skin reaction to an organic beauty product. I couldn't understand how an allergic reaction of such severity could result from something that was supposed to be all natural. Out of curiosity I researched the ingredients in the product that caused my reaction. Let's just say that I was extremely shocked to learn that this particular product, which was labeled as "natural" was actually toxic and hazardous to my health.

It took months to detoxify my skin from the chemicals that caused a persistent purplish rash on my neck and chest. After my skin returned to normal I found that using anything with synthetic ingredients aggravated the affected area. I had to throw away all my beauty products, including face creams, body lotions, make-up and hair products.

I immediately started to search for alternatives. I was looking for something that was nourishment for the skin rather than a dangerous chemical cocktail. Naturally, my first stop was the health food store. I quickly realized that most popular health food store brands contained the same toxic ingredients as the brands I had been using.

Finding authentic organic products was a huge challenge. Sadly, many products on the market are falsely labeled as "natural" or "organic". After extensive research, I was thrilled to find small artisan companies around the globe that created beautiful food-grade organic beauty products. It was at that moment that the Elixir Organic Spa concept was born.

After more than seven years in business Elixir Organic Spa has become the destination for people from all walks of life who want to experience truly healing and therapeutic treatments without chemicals. Many of our clients simply cannot go to conventional spas due to allergies, skin sensitivities or various autoimmune skin conditions. Some of our clients have cancer and choose to enjoy spa treatments that won't add a toxic burden to their already vulnerable bodies. Whatever the case may be, at our spa we care for the most sensitive skin without the fear of irritation or inflammation.
